A friendly friendly

Yesterday the male students from various counties in Nyanza took it to another level by carrying on with what they have been doing every weekend. They hosted an inter-county football match friendly which grants the final winner the champion of the week. On the got midday sun of Saturday, the teams carried out their warm-ups as usual with the target of "who will emerge to be the winner"

The teams present for the friendly were:

Migori squad

1. Siaya
2. Migori
3. Homabay
4. Kisumu

The matches were played over a single legged fixture which saw every team play every match as a final.

The first match saw siaya eliminate Kisumu on a 1:0 score, the game having started on a high note with sloppy Siaya emerging the winners at the end. 

The second match ended on a stalemate as Homabay were held to a 1:1 draw by Migori after 90 minutes of football. The fruit were well reaped when Homabay ended progression hopes of migori squad when they scoref a winning goal deep into the second half of extra time.

The much awaited match of the day(the final) saw Homabay meet Siaya on what seemed a tough fixture for both teams.

Homabay fell to a 1:0 defeat at the hands of predominant Siaya who had a solid rock defence that saw them keep off the threat of the high strung supercharged Homabay forwards.
